  • ORIENTAL
  • ½ tablespoon togarashi seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon black or white sesame seeds, toasted
  • 3 tablespoons sea salt

Method

  1. Celery salt is a traditional condiment for boiled eggs, but here are three modern alternatives. Grind the ingredients together with a mortar and pestle, or blitz in a processor.

Tips

Togarashi is a Japanese spice blend which you'll find in select Asian groceries; sweet smoked paprika is sold in Spanish or Hungarian delis. In the UK, you can also buy both ingredients at thespiceshop.co.uk.
