Yum! This was excellent. I loved all the flavors in it. I messed up, bc I mixed all the ingredients together. That means that the spices were more of a liquid, so they didn't stick as well. I will be doing this recipe again soon.UPDATE: I did this again, and found that despite all the spices, it wasn't amazing. When I did it correctly, I found that the spices caked on the potatoes. I think that a reduction in the "spicy" spices, would allow the other ones to stand out. Also, there is no salt in the recipe.-10 Jul 2008

Nice lightly spicy recipe, but I agreed with reviewers that it needed salt (I added about 1/2 tsp. to the spices) and I probably will add some garlic powder ,too, next time. I just lined my jelly roll pan with foil and sprayed that, for easy clean up. Will definitely make again. Thanks, for sharing.-14 Apr 2010

This is the recipe that made me finally break down and register... (every time I go searching for a recipe online I find the perfect one here.) This dish was wonderful but wished I'd added salt while tossing. I will next time. I cut them more like home fries and used a deep baking pan for about 6 servings and did the tossing right in the pan (a lot how I do a different roasted root veggies dish.) Came out great and was a big hit at our house! Yum!-07 May 2009

Chilli potato recipe | How to make chilli potato | Chilli aloo recipe

Chilli potato is a Indo chinese starter made with fried potatoes tossed in spicy, slightly sweet & sour chilli sauce. This chilli potato recipe will give you restaurant style crispy potatoes in chilli sauce. Chilli potato is quite popular in the Indian restaurants & is mostly eaten as a appetizer. There are 2 versions &ndash dry & gravy. Gravy dish is good to eat as a side with Fried rice or Veg noodles.

I sometimes make chilli potato if my kids&rsquo ask for it or when I have guests home. We usually don&rsquot prefer very saucy dishes so I make the dry version. But I have shared both the dry & gravy methods in this post.

To make this chilli potato recipe, potatoes need to be crisp fried and then tossed in sweet sour chilli sauce. Alternately for a better healthier option, they can also be grilled or pan roasted and added to the sauce.

Making chilli potato is similar to the way we make Chilli paneer and Chilli chicken

Spicy Marinated Anchovies with Potato Chips by Alison Roman

Anchovies are wildly misunderstood. Something about tinned fish makes a large percentage of people get squirmy. And I understand! Sometimes I’m still one of them. But the more I cook Alison’s way, the more I can attest to the distinctly salty power of an anchovy. Anchovies elevate. They transform tomato sauce, chicken, lamb, white beans, and yes, potato chips!

At the beginning of this project, I put this recipe into the not-looking-forward-to-it category. But it’s slowly migrated to the alright-yea-alison-knows-what-she’s-doing category. Not full on literally-drooling-can’t-wait category, but getting there. Which is why I made about a fourth of the recipe portion – I wasn’t sure how this would be received.

I opened a tin of anchovies and reserved a few for this appetizer (the others went to the Tomato Dressed in Toasted Fennel and Anchovy recipe – post forthcoming). I covered the little guys in distilled white vinegar and very thinly sliced serrano pepper. The recipe calls for calabrian chiles, but I could not find that pepper variety for the life of me. The anchovies marinated for about an hour before Jordan and my in-laws all dared to try one with me.

The serrano peppers packed quite the heat, but boy was it an exciting bite. I served the fish with toothpicks and TJ’s potato chips. If it weren’t for this project, I’d never have tried something like it. But once again, I’m so glad I did.

Chipotle Ranch Air Fried Chips

Is it just me or has chipotle as a flavor really burst on the scene over the past few years? It seems like there&rsquos a chipotle edition of nearly every dish or food product out there now. And for good reason&mdashit&rsquos delicious.

  • 1 tsp Ground Chipotle Pepper Powder
  • 1 tsp Ranch Dip Mix or Seasoning (if you have a Sam&rsquos Club near you, they have this in bulk so you don&rsquot have to open a package for 1 tsp)

I added a bit of cayenne pepper to mine but if you&rsquore sensitive to spice, you may want to pass.

Sprinkle the cinnamon mixture on top as soon as possible or the apples will start turning brownish. Leave them for a few minutes.

Spicy Homemade Potato Chips Indian Style

Spicy Homemade Potato Chips Indian Style is an easy and tasty finger snack dish prepared with thinly sliced potatoes. The chips require minimal ingredients and are topped with any flavorful seasoning. Spicy Homemade Potato Chips Indian Style are flavored with chilly seasoning. This is perhaps one of the most favorite crispies among all age groups both young and old alike. I guess there is not a single soul on earth who does not like chips. All head straight to the store. How do you thinly slice potatoes?

To thinly slice potatoes to make chips, you need a handheld mandolin. If the potato slices are too thick, they will not crisp up like chips.

Here is the handheld mandoline (affiliate link) I use.

No matter which one you buy, please promise me you’ll use the hand guard.

Trust me – a mandoline cut hurts worse than a knife (you also don’t realize how much you really use your thumb until it’s all bandaged up).

To make this potato chip dip, simply:

STEP 1: In a large bowl, using an electric hand or stand mixer, whip cream cheese, chili sauce, and onion salt until creamy and smooth.

STEP 2: Place dip in a covered container. Put in refrigerator for at least 2 hours or overnight before serving.

STEP 3: Serve with potato chips and enjoy.

I’ve received a TON of questions about what kind of chili sauce I used. So, I used one 12 oz. jar of Heinz Chili Sauce.

This potato chip dip is perfect for making the day ahead of a party because it is the best when it has been chilled in the refrigerator for at least 2-3 hours before serving but I like to make it the day before, so when the guests arrive I can just take it out of the fridge and it’s all ready to go.

Of course, this dip is the best with potato chips but it’s also good with crackers, pretzels, Fritos and I even love it with french fries.
